Dauphinoise Potatoes
     A Favorite Side...& oh, so, easy! 

  • Grease an oven-proof dish and sprinkle crushed garlic as a base. Thinly slice peeled potatoes and red onions and spread a layer of each in the dish.
  • Sprinkle with salt and ground black pepper, then cover with a thin layer of creme fraiche mixture and milk (four parts creme fraiche/ one part milk). Add alternate layers until dish is nearly full. Add seasoning on each layer also. Finish with a creme fraiche layer.
  • Bake uncovered at 150°C for almost 2 hours until potatoes are soft and tender and the surface is golden brown. Serve!

Tip: If you want a "toasty" surface, trun the oven up to 180°C for the final 15-20 minutes.
